Fall Cafe Showcase - October 15, 2018
On the 15th of October all music department played in the same place and same time of day. This was the Fall Cafe Showcase. "Me Oh My!" also provided food and there was a flower raffle. Also announced this evening was the Music Field Trip in the Spring to "Face" with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. The students performed well and a great start to the school year.
On December 17th the CLP music department will be performing at 6:30 for all family members and anyone who can and wants to attend the Holiday Cafe Showcase. During this performance all of the music department ensembles will be performing. This includes the concert band, symphonic band, beginning orchestra, advanced orchestra, concert choir, and born with vocals. The concert will have a flower raffle, $1 a ticket. There will also be a table selling food and drink from "Me Oh My!". Food is $1 each drink is $0.50 each. The showcase is streamed live on YouTube by the CLPMS music department channel.
YEARBOOK

The yearbook team is working hard. From the opening page to the river week page. We are all working hard to make sure that everyone is in it to make sure that you all like. So many fun moments capture and so many that are eta to be had. If you have any moments you want everyone to see please send them in. We it would be helpful if they were group pictures, and if you don't think that you photo could have a place in the yearbook you couldn't be more wrong. We are sure there is a place for it.

Pirate Oscars is where people form into groups and make a book trailer of a book they really like. The book cannot already be a trailer or a movie. In the end of February in your ELO, you will watch all the book trailers that have been made and vote on several categories about each groups video.

SPECIAL GUESTS
POUDRE HIGH SCHOOL
On November 12th, students had the great honor of hearing the Poudre High School "Special Edition" under the direction of Mr. Lanowski. This ensemble (with three alumni - Max Condell, Jeffrey Condell and River Brooks) performed four acapella pieces and answered questions about high school music.
On the same day, Mr. Stucky, the Poudre High School orchestra teacher came into the Advanced Orchestra class and discussed "tuning" while demonstrating and working with the students.

7th Grade Boys Basketball
Due to coverage - 8th Grade Boys Basketball will be included in the future.
7th grade pirates had a basketball game against the Resurrection Panthers on 11/6/18. They had an outstanding first game. The JV lost 8-19 but played hard. The varsity lost 10-30. Mitchell Vaad had some great defense on JV and Hayden Cichon had some great drives and shots during the varsity game. The next game is on 11/8/18 against Lincoln Lancers.
7th grade pirates had their game against the Lincoln Lancers on 11/8/18. The team didn't have such a great game. The varsity lost 32 to 6. The JV lost 27 to 1. Both teams played hard and did their best. Hayden Cichon had amazing three point swish before the clock went out. The team has a game on 11/12/18 against Lesher Vikings.
7th grade pirates had their game against the Lesher Vikings on 11/12/18. The team worked hard, but ended up losing. The varsity lost 9 to 29. Hayden Cichon had another amazing three point swish. Liam Conkling had a lot of great drives to the basket, but was stopped in his tracks. Brady Wise got charged at by one of Lesher's players. Rane Kelly had a great backboard shot. The JV lost 0-30. They all played great defense and offense, but it just wasn't enough to stop the Vikings. They have another game against the Preston Pumas on 11/14/18
7th grade pirates had their game against the Preston Pumas on 11/14/18. The team pushed the limits, but it wasn't enough. The varsity lost their game by N/A. Hayden Cichon almost had a three point swish, but they counted it as two. Kolton Ball had some great shots, but ended up missing them all. He also had the only two free throws in the game which all went in. The JV lost their game also by N/A. Brady had some great passes and cuts. The team worked their best, but Preston overthrew them. Their next game is against the Kinard Mustangs on 11/19/18

Rane Kelly had two free throws that he missed. Kolton Ball had some great drives to the basket and made some of . The varsity worked hard even without some our best players. The JV played hard, but lost as well 0-24. Kolton Allen had some great cuts. Chance Sauvageau had a couple good drives. Lee West has some great cuts as well. Both teams played hard but Kinard was too good. They have another game against the Wellington Eagles on 11/27/18.

If you want to wrestle for CLP make sure you have a physical and eligibility form and payment turned in to the office. Your parents also need to have registered you. If you have not done those things you can't wrestle. But you still have time before the season begins.

We had a great spirit week with a lot of participants! Thank you leadership for helping out so much with Spirit week. Spirit week is a school tradition where we take a week to dress up everyday based on a theme. Next spirit week will consist of PJ day, Twin day, Workout Wednesday, 70's day, and holiday day. It will take place from December 3rd, to December 7th. The days will take place in the order listed. Can't wait to see your attire!

The dance this fall was a success with a lot of people showing up with a lot of cool costumes! We appreciated all the soda donations given to us and a big thanks to the DJ who had a great song selection. We had a great dance and there is a promising future for the dances to come!
